Alright, life has been super busy for me. I have managed to wade into Warlords and have at least one toon, my Troll Hunter Pejeta, up to 100, Garrison and all. Here's a few pics of some of the fun. More to come when my schedule allows me a moment to breathe. Why yes, I did spell my name in blasting powder. I can't have been the only one... AWWWW YYEAAHHHh - Tamable Talbuks. Life is good.

Some amazing news has come across the Hunter community this past week. 1. the WHU is back! Woot Woot. Check it out! 2. THE HUNTING PARTY PODCAST IS ALSO COMING BACK AND IT IS DOING SO ON MY BIRTHDAY AND I COULDN'T BE MORE EXCITED, (I mean that somewhat literally and somewhat figuratively- I'm calm enough to write this so I could be more excited, but I'm REALLY REALLY EXCITED YOU GUYS.) Details - Sunday, September 28th, 10am EST, on Twitch. This news has kind of helped dust off the cobwebs that had started to gather here at the end of this expansion and has me back thinking about WoW and its wildlife again. To that end I have updated my Warlords of Draenor section. I'm probably the most excited about getting to tame more hoofstock, like talbuks, stags, and gazelles. Here is a wonderful video of new hunter pets and the new tamable hoofstock by Bendak. Also, If you're not reading Eyes of the Beast, go, go now, roll around in the Hunter-y goodness. I'm also really excited for the Gara spirit beast taming challenge that is based on working with the animal and securing a tame through actions of assistance. It looks stunning and I can't wait to go on this quest. Needless to say (and yet I am) things are heating up here as we get closer to November and the coming of Warlords of Draenor. We have more sources of hunter news and that is awesome! Thank you for reading through my excited ramblings and have a great afternoon! Hot off the presses we have some new, datamined, animal information for the upcoming expansion Warlords of Draenor! Alpha is out and we are starting to get some ideas on what new animals we might see in this next expansion, namely DRAGONFLIES! *grabby hands* give them to me now! Or, at least, let's see some pictures of them. I'm betting they're a little bigger, and a little meaner, than these colorful little guys we saw in Pandaria. So, I've been saying all along that dragonflies would make good hunter pets. Those little suckers can bite (I may, possibly, know this from experience) and the color options for them run the entire spectrum, every shade and iridescence.
These guys could be utterly fantastic! A little over 2 months have passed since the very last episode of the Hunting Party Podcast and this past week a new Warcraft Hunter podcast has arisen. Solarflair has stepped up to present Cloak and Quiver -"The podcast for the Hunter community, by the Hunter community!" I thought it a solid first episode, containing some information I had yet to come across and discussing the class I know and love with equal (nay, better) understanding and attention. Having a Hunter podcast out in the world again just feels right, makes my day a little brighter and helps me reengage with the wonderful world of Azeroth, which life had pulled me away from as of late. I look forward to further podcasts and thank you Solarflair for the work and effort you are putting into this endeavor. Want to listen? - Cloak and Quiver is available on YouTube, andiTunes. You can also follow the show Cloak and Quiver (and creator Solarflair) on Twitter. My dear hunters, You asked me one once if I had told you everything there was to know about my adventures with pets and quests and rotations. And while I can honestly say I have told you the truth, I may not have told you all of it. For quite by chance, and the creation of a company called Blizzard, fate decided I would become part of this tale. It began, well, it began as you might expect. In a podcast hosted by ustream, there lived three hunters. Not a nasty, dirty, wet podcast, full of warlocks and rogues; nor a sandy podcast with nothing but warriors and mages, this was a Hunter-podcast, and that means good lager, a warm hearth, and a trusted companion at your side. I present to you my tale of the final Hunting Party Podcast. On January 18th 2014, after 4 years and on Episode #200, the Hunting Party Podcast sent its hunter love out into the universe for the last time. It has taken me 2 days to recover, but it was well worth the time and celebration. It began, as they always have, at 2pm EST, with a chatroom full of fellow hunters, plus a few support class. All original hosts made it back. Darkbrew, Euripides and the indomitable Frostheim. They were joined, of course, by the lovely Alisaunder and ever engaging Arth. But wait, there's more! - the star-studded (bedazzled?) guest list broke all previous records:
And if you've read through the list then you've seen that I WAS ASKED TO PARTICIPATE AND THAT HAS MADE MY YEAR. I AM SO PLEASED TO HAVE BEEN A PART OF THIS IN EVEN A SMALL WAY AND THE HUNTER COMMUNITY IS SO AMAZING AND AWESOME AND I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT'S NEXT. Okay, I'll settle back down for a bit. I had intended to blog during the podcast itself and I started to, but it was so much fun and so engaging I didn't make it too far. I was also participating in the HPP drinking game and that may have had a little to do with my wandering focus. But anyway, here's what I put to the page - So, I'm listening to the Hunting Party Podcast, The 200th, here is my reaction. (p.s. I'm playing the drinking game, so hopefully this remains coherent. Starting with a Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat) ...and that's it. Yeah, I didn't make it too far. Also, going on at the same time was the last in-game WHU event. Hunters of all levels gathered on Icecrown server. If you haven't seen any of the WHU events I highly recommend you watch some of the awesome videos put together by Frostheim of these amazing all-hunter events. So, there I was, sitting at my computer and happily listening to the podcast when Frostheim makes a comment that he's noticed my hunter Banya is standing next to him on the hill in Kharanos. THEN HE PROCEDES TO LAMENT THAT HE NEVER GOT THE CHANCE TO CHAT WITH ME ON THE PODCAST. (The two times I had been on before he had been unable to make it.) Let me just say my pulse picked up a little bit with the thought "HOLY CARP ARE THEY GOING TO ASK ME ON THE SHOW???" And, lo and behold, let it be written, that a moment later I got an invite link to the hangout. My next reaction - WHERE IN HOLY HELL IS MY HEADSET??? I was listening with speakers and I needed a headset with a mic to be able to talk. Small panic ensued, then I found it, plugged it in and - voila - I was on the last Hunting Party Podcast. I joined in on the podcast at about the 2:41 hr mark. And stayed through to the very end. It was one of the longest podcasts of the HPP, its only competition being the 100th episode extravaganza, and I think, beating it out in heart and in guest stars. I am still thrilled and smiling from being on the show. Here, for your listening pleasure is the full 4 hours of Episode 200 and then another 1.5 hours of postshow. That's right - FIVE AND A HALF HOURS OF HUNTER-Y GOODNESS!
It was glorious! It gemmed for strength! It was unrepeatable in its magnificence! But time ran on, as time tends to do, and the hosts slowly left as real life pulled them away. By the end of the postshow only 5 of us remained and no one wanted to stop talking. No one wanted to be the one to say the final goodbye. No one wanted to let it go. We reminisced and fought back the rising tide of feels and slowly, with exhaustion and inebriation weighing at our stamina, Arth played us out with some Hunter poetry. Epic and lonely and sad and wondrous. Sitting here, writing about it, I can still feel that sense of loss. The smiles and laughter and theory crafting and friendship bracelets and sporebats and uncommonly good looking hosts. My final words are these - Frost - I'm so glad I was finally able to say hello, even if it was to say goodbye. Thank you. Euri and Dark - It was an honor to stand at your sides as a guildmate and to raid with such hunters. I must admit I was afraid to approach you titans of Hunterdom with your show of awesomesauce wisdom, but you made me feel welcome and a valued member of the hunter community. For that, I am truly thankful. Alisaunder - my fellow Horde at heart and lover of Lore, thank you. LOK'TAR OGAR! Arth - May your next journeys take you further into the wondrous lands of geekdom. If any of you ever have need of me, consider me a bannerman, who will gladly take up arms against your enemies. (Or, also, if you, like, need help moving or want to meet a rhino, just let me know. Doesn't have to be an apocalyptic battle against demons; I mean, it could be, I'd be there, but it doesn't have to be.) "So, Stay thirsty my friends and remember to drink your Darkbrew Lager. Remember to spay and neuter your Feral Druids. And don't forget to pay your dues." Hunting Party Podcast 200th (AND FINAL) episode is January 18th, 2pm EST! BE THERE! AT LAST, the Zookeeper title is mine! On the winter solstice I was able to find a snowy owl (on my third attempt that day). So now, I bear the title in game and out, woot woot!
OK, Blizzard, I'm waiting. Snowy Owls have yet to spawn, but soon, very soon now and the Zookeeper title will be mine.
3 months after news that Euripides was stepping away from WoW, it was announced that the Hunting Party Podcast will be ending with episode 200. See the WHU article here. See Darkbrew's article here.
I feel a bit behind here since my schedule has not allowed me to be able to listen live and there is something special in being able to be a part of the chatroom and get to know the names you see in there every week. That, and with life pulling me from playing as much as I'd like, this caught me off guard. I'm listening to the most recent podcast now and the same feels as listening to Euri's last is starting to build. I know I am going to try and get the day off work, or at least adjust my schedule so that I can be there that day. For more details on the 200th, tune in and catch the next live show (Episode 199 -the second to last) on January 4th. I know I will be. So, real life has been a bit busy for me, as it gets this time of year, and with the final patch out for a bit I haven't spent a lot of time on WOW recently. My main activity is leveling up my Warrior Musumba (actual name of one of my IRL rhinos). Obviously, the biggest news is the announcement of the new Expansion - Warlords of Draenor. I'm waiting to get more video and info before I can start to make guesses on what new animals we might see there. I'm fairly excited, only had one slight hitch at the idea that Aggra might not get to go along -more on that here.
