Sporebat
Here-in follows what might be known if applied from science to the mightiest and greatest of the hunter pets - the SPOREBAT.
No creatures are more elegant or more grand.
Now, if you go off the name:
Spore: a reproductive structure that is adapted for dispersal and surviving for extended periods of time in unfavorable conditions.
Bat: a nocturnal flying mammal which uses echolocation as a means of traversing the night and finding its insectoid prey (though some also eat fruit) or perhaps a wood or aluminum cylindrical piece of sporting equipment used in baseball/softball. I would say maybe it bats its eyes at us but it doesn't appear to have eyelids. Maybe it bats its spores?
But lets say that it is a mutated fungoid life-form.
