Other breeds of dogs!

Picture
This is a pic of my boy Duncan.  He's awesome.  Though I can't find my pet bar anywhere and there must be a "chase squirrel" button instead of a Move To.  Fortunately his special ability is heat generation and as winter sets in I'm going to make sure that is set to proc whenever focus is available.  hmm...focus, that could be a problem.  I think the Chase Squirrel procs whenever focus is below a certain amount.

There are over 150 breeds of dogs and so much fun to be had as hunter pets.  Imagine a Chihuahua or Pomeranian showing up at a whistle call and then latching onto an opposing player's face.  (The "Moth Clause" trumps any arguments against anything being a hunter's pet.)  Or maybe an English Sheep dog (it gets extra points for the Peter Pan reference) and I bet it would be fun to animate the coat.  Maybe a retriever who will bring back the loot once a target is dead. That would be pretty useful.  A St. Bernard could hold extra flasks.  Great Danes get the Marmaduke and Scooby Doo reference.  Poodles could...um... they would be useful to...um...maybe their special ability would be "fluffy puffs of doom!" There could be grooming salons for dogs - you could change their coat color and style like we do with our toons.

Meerkats!

Picture
They introduced Mongoose in MoP, which are the cousins of Meerkats, but I'd still love to see these guys specifically, in game.
I think, when you tame a meerkat as your hunter pet, instead of taming an individual, you should get to tame the entire colony. And then, when they attack, they attack en-masse as a swarm of little teeth and fur and growls. They have the largest canines per head size of any mammal, and they are not always cute and cuddly.  I took care of a group that would make short work of any bird that happened to land in their display.  A frenzied bloody mess would result, much to the horror of guests if it occurred during park hours.  As an ability - The leader of the pack should climb to the closest, highest point (could be your head, or more accurately, the head of the closest Draenei or Tauren!) and stand as sentinel, chirping an alarm when danger approached.

Instead of the swarm idea, they could just make giant meerkats. I guess that would be ok.

p.s. watch the movie Fierce Creatures for a good laugh (same actors and creative team that brought you "A Fish Called Wanda".) As a zoo keeper, I adore that movie.

Hippopotami

These guys kill more people in Africa than any other animal,  just gonna throw that out there...
