So, I just got back from DragonCon, in Atlanta, Georgia. And while it is not super heavy with Warcraft costumes (it is a celebration of all fandoms within Sci-Fi and fantasy) I did come across a few. DragonCon was excellent this year and someday I will make a Warcraft costume.
I was also able to talk with Mr. Stackpole about working with Blizzard and the prep-work/research needed to delve into a world already so fleshed out. HE RECEIVED A 6 HOUR LORE PRIMER FROM THE LOREMASTERS!! (this fact made me drool a little bit; man, to get to hang out and talk with those guys/gals. Though, I imagine his encounter was probably pretty intense.) He also was the one who suggested the human hunter character to help complete/balance out the journey. He paid for his own account and delved into WoW, playing different classes and races (a few trolls, of course.) One of the blizzard guys did pass him bags and such to help him get started.
The encounter was awesome and the workshop was both helpful and informative. It was just one of many great interactions and experiences at DragonCon.
